The Nook transforms a dated 1950s bungalow in Forest Row into a contemporary Dutch barn-inspired family home. Rather than extending outwards, the design reworks the existing roof form to create a full first floor within the original footprint, preserving the garden and neighbouring views.

Three bedrooms and a family bathroom are introduced upstairs, while the ground floor is opened to create brighter and more connected living spaces. Rooflights and carefully positioned glazing bring natural light deep into the house, with exposed structural elements helping define the upper rooms and vaulted ceilings.

A standing-seam metal roof wraps over larch-clad and rendered facades, giving the once modest bungalow a confident new identity while remaining carefully balanced within its residential setting.
