The Pape Pod is a compact music studio designed for Lamberhurst St. Mary’s Primary School, providing a dedicated space for music lessons within the school grounds. The proposal introduces a small standalone pod positioned close to the main building, allowing easy access while maintaining separation from classrooms to reduce noise disruption.

The interior is designed to accommodate a drum kit and keyboards, with foldaway tables that allow the space to adapt for different lesson formats. Built-in seating with integrated storage creates a small teaching area while maximising the available floor space. Acoustic wall panels and integrated lighting support both sound control and atmosphere, creating an engaging environment for students. Externally, narrow windows reference the rhythm of piano keys. Early concepts explored vertical timber fins to reinforce this musical language and bring a playful character to the design.
