Ladham Oast introduces a new outbuilding within the grounds of a historic rural property near Goudhurst. The design imagines a new outbuilding to support both leisure and practical uses within the landscape.

The project replaces an existing garage structure with a carefully designed building that combines a garage, workshop and pool house. Its form takes inspiration from traditional agricultural buildings, using a simple barn-like silhouette that sits comfortably within the surrounding countryside.

The building opens towards the garden and pool terrace, where a sunken outdoor area provides shelter and privacy while creating a relaxed setting for entertaining and family use. A refined palette of materials, including timber detailing and weathered metal elements, helps the architecture settle naturally into its rural setting while introducing a contemporary character.
